J-Term Programs
Twenty-three courses are available to Augustana students during January 2013 through the Upper Midwest Association for Intercultural Education (UMAIE). While all UMAIE courses count for general elective credits (3 credit hours) toward the 130 credit hours needed for graduation, many of the options have also been pre-approved for general education credit and/or major elective credit at Augustana. Pre-approvals for general education credit and/or major elective credit are indicated in the chart under the course listing below.

APPLICATIONS FOR JANUARY 2013 WILL BE ACCEPTED BEGINNING MARCH 1, 2012. The Priority Application Deadline is April 16, 2012. All applications received by this date will be submitted to UMAIE for equal consideration. Applicants will be notified in early May of their admission status: accepted, waitlisted or rejected. Application by the Priority Application Deadline is HIGHLY recommended.
To apply, submit the following materials to Cathy Lindamood in the International Programs Office located at the corner of Norton Avenue and 28th.
1. UMAIE Application, including essay
2. UMAIE January Term Abroad Agreement
3. Copy of your unofficial transcript
4. Check for $500 deposit made payable to Seminars International (refundable if cancellation received in writing prior to September 15)
5. Copy of the photo page of your passport. If you don't have a passport, submit a completed passport application form. You do not need to apply for a passport until you are accepted into the course.
